Total War: Warhammer 2’s newest trailer is maybe my preferred.
Creative Assembly has actually created wonderful cinematic in-engine trailers for its terrific fantasy technique game for some time, however the trailer for upcoming DLC The Warden & the Paunch somehow raises the video game.
Evoking a fight from The Lord of the Rings film, the trailer reveals an army of Mad Max-style goblin chariots bearing down on an army of elves, who clash in remarkable style.
The trailer suffices, however here’s the official blurb:
” Long has Eltharion the Warden of Tor Yvresse stood guard, ever-watchful for indications of Greenskin incursion. After beating Grom the Paunch in ages past, and scattering his hordes, Eltharion swore that no Orc or Goblin dirt would ever enter his lands once again. However Grom has other styles. His spacious belly pains for a rematch, and his appetite for vengeance is matched just by his titanic cravings. Prepare for the WAAAGH!!!”
The Warden & the Paunch trailer is simply among a raft of fantastic Overall Warhammer 2 trailers. This one, for The Shadow & the Blade DLC, is great:
The Hunter & The Monster trailer is extremely cool too:
Innovative Assembly has a Frequently Asked Question for its in-engine trailers, discussing how the Overall War in-house cinematics group develops them. For in-engine cinematics such as the The Warden & the Paunch, the video uses in-development in-game possessions and code as a basis for a video shot with cinematic electronic camera methods to create movie-like footage.
Creative Assembly continues to support Total Warhammer 2, of course, but a 3rd video game remains in the works. I have high expect its trailers.
