Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that Jose Mourinho wasn’t impressed with the state of the away dressing room at Old Trafford when he returned there as a visiting manager this season, even though he had previously changed it.

Mourinho took his Tottenham side to his former club in early December, when a Marcus Rashford brace earned United a 2-1 win.

Solskjaer says he made sure to welcome his predecessor as United boss with open arms.

“We had a chat before the game,” Solskjaer told the United We Stand fanzine.

“I’d not really met him before, only briefly when he was at Chelsea and they played Cardiff. We had a nice chat.

“He was complaining about the away dressing room, the one that he’d changed!

“There was a positive atmosphere between us – it was good to have him back.”

The Norwegian went on to detail how happy he was with the current make-up of his squad.

“I’d rather have a hole in the squad than an ahole,” he continued.

“Personality is so important. We’re a team in a team environment. You want players to have a bit of ego and edge but they have to be able to adapt.
