Dr Adam Kucharski, of the London School of Health and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), states: “Normally, what happens is a lot of people don’t offer the infection to anybody.

Can superspreading happen outside?

Dr Muge Cevik, of the University of St Andrews, states: “Not all activities, not all environments have the same danger of infection.

” So, for instance, the threat of infection would be higher inside your home compared to outdoors.

” Outdoors, usually individuals worry about bicyclists or runners going by – but that would be lower risk. We could state the transmission threat is minimal.

” Whereas if you spend a whole day together, in a big group in a park, and if you exchange lots of food and you have really close contact, less than 2m (6ft), the threat is lower than being inside – however there is still run the risk of.”
