The Apprentice’s Thomas Skinner has become the latest removed contestant from Celebrity MasterChef as finals week formally kicked off.

The cockney geezer failed to impress the judges and was offered his marching orders after 2 tricky difficulties with the final eight.

Thomas looked gutted as Gregg Wallace and John Torode announced the results, however kept a smile on his face as he restored his apron.

‘ I can not say enough, what fantastic fun I have actually had.

‘ Listen, I’ll be preparing all the time from now on. It’ll save me a couple of quid getting takeaways as well, innit?!’

First off, the teams were divided into two to prepare for 100 people, in celebration of the 90 th anniversary of Guide Dogs For The Blind.

Continuing brand, Thomas chose an apples and pears tart (stairs unfortunately not consisted of, rhyming slang fans).

Once they were back in the cooking area, they were all just provided 90 minutes to recreate their fave takeaway.

Thomas opted for a lamb coconut curry, served with coconut rice, coconut naan, paneer with peas and onion bhajis.

However unfortunately it didn’t leave a taste in the mouths of the judges, who complained that the bhajis were overcooked, the rice was more a rice pudding, and that the curry was too sweet.

Nevertheless Gregg ‘gave him 10/10 for bravery’.

Amar Latif admitted that he felt like he was in the running for the slice after also not getting rave evaluations for his meal, and said: ‘I feel it was a very close call.

Gethin Jones felt the very same and included: ‘I was anticipating my name to be called out however somehow I lived to cook another day.’

Amar, Gethin, Riyadh Khalaf, Judi Love, Sam Quek, Phil Daniels and Matthew Pinsent are still in the running for the prize.

Celebrity Masterchef airs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on BBC One.
