Sia has responded to criticism of her upcoming film Music.
The film will be released next year, and is accompanied by a full album of songs included in and inspired by the cinematic task.
Previously today – November 20 th – Sia became associated with a public argument over the representation of autistic individuals in the movie, reacting: “why do not you watch my film before you evaluate it?”
The singer was challenged over the casting of the primary character, who is playing by a non-autistic star.
She replied: “I’ve never referred to music as disabled. Unique capabilities is what I have actually constantly stated, and casting someone at her level of working was cruel, not kind, so I made the executive choice that we would do our finest to adoringly represent the neighborhood.”
The phrase “vicious, not kind” went viral, with many online users removing the context of her initial expression.
An emotional Sia defended her film, and also the latter involvement of the group Autism Speaks, related to by some as a polarizing aspect.
