Today is International Women’s Day, which indicates it is a day committed to women – and a focal point for the movement for women’s rights and equality.

The day first started back in 1909 in New York City, and was made a yearly event the following year as a ‘Special Ladies’s Day’. It wasn’t until 1967 that the day was embraced by the feminist movement, where the day was primarily focused on carrying out modification and equality in between sexes.

International Women’s Day differs from country to nation – in some it is a day of demonstration, somewhere else it is a day that commemorates females, and in others it is mostly ignored. Today we are recognising all the incredible things ladies have done, starting by supporting these incredible female owned brands.
