Tyson Fury admitted he was delighted Cristiano Ronaldo was back at Manchester United but sent the Portugal superstar a warning.
Fury is a huge United fan and has been spotted at Old Trafford numerous times over the years.
But fortunately for Ronaldo, geography means his time back at the club he left in 2009 is okay with the WBC champion.
“I’m really happy Ronaldo’s back at Old Trafford – but this town ain’t big enough for the both of us,” he joked in an interview with The Sun.
“If I lived in Manchester it would be a problem. But I’m an hour up the motorway in Morecambe so he’s got plenty of distance.”
The Gypsy King proved himself as one of the greatest boxers of his generation as he beat Deontay Wilder in their trilogy fight to retain his WBC heavyweight title.
The 33-year-old remains undefeated and endeared himself even more to British boxing fans with the instant classic against Wilder.
His last five fights have all been in America, but revealed his dream of holding a world title fight back at his beloved Manchester United.
“I have two fights left out here [in Vegas] but I’d love to bring a world title fight back to Manchester.
“It has always been a dream of mine to fight at Old Trafford. The last fight there was [Chris] Eubank versus [Nigel] Benn in 1993 [it finished as a draw] and that was massive.”
What comes next for the ‘Gypsy King’ is as yet unknown.
The WBC have ruled that he will have 30 days to agree an undisputed unification fight with Anthony Joshua’s conqueror Oleksandr Usyk.
If this is unable to be made – as expected as AJ has triggered his clause for a rematch with Usyk – then Fury will be ordered to defend against the winner of Dillian Whyte vs Otto Wallin on October 30.
“He’s gotta go look for Usyk or nothing,” John Fury told White and Jordan on talkSPORT.
“It’s Usyk next, or nothing.
“I wouldn’t bother with the rest of them, they’re not in Tyson’s class.
“Would Dillian Whyte deal with Deontay Wilder?
“No. So why would they wanna put him in with my son and get him knocked out?
“Tyson can’t get up for them kind of fights. For me, I’ve told him, Usyk or don’t bother.”
