The victim was found stabbed with his pet dog tied up near to him. Thames Valley Police said the injured man was in his 30s, and was lying on the ground in Baylis Park, near the centre of Slough, just before 1am on Monday morning.

He had sustained a stab wound to his chest, and was receiving hospital treatment for this wound as well as other injuries to his face and head.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police spokesperson said he is in a stable condition in hospital.

Police confirmed that two men had been arrested in connection with the attack.

A 26-year-old man from Slough was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and a 23-year-old man from Amersham has been detained on suspicion of assisting an offender, reports BuckinghamshireLive.

Detective Inspector Emily Evans said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information about what happened to please come forward.

“I’d also ask any motorists who were around Baylis Park to check any dash-cam footage in case it may have captured anything that could assist the investigation.

“Anyone with information can contact police by making a report online, quoting reference 43210572127.

Detective Inspector Evans continued: “Understandably, this incident will cause concern in the local community, however we are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of this assault.

“If anybody has any concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to one of our officers.”

She added: “A scene-watch is in place in Baylis Park, and there will be a visible and increased police presence in the area while this investigation continues.”

This follows the arrests of two men from Slough in August this year, after a fight broke out in a park and two teenagers were stabbed.

Two teenagers, both 17, were treated in hospital after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

Police, multiple ambulance crews, plus a rapid response vehicle and air ambulance helicopter attended the scene in mid-August.

Thames Valley Police arrested two men, aged 20 and 22, on suspicion of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police said at the time: “Incidents such as this are naturally concerning in the local community, but we are committed to investigating such incidents and we have two men in custody.

“We do believe this to be an isolated incident, and that victims and offenders are known to each other, but that does not lessen the impact of what has occurred.”

“We will not tolerate such behaviour and would urge the local community to speak to any of our officers on the scene with any concerns or information that they have.”
