The 24 year old’s stint in the villa was short, but he did form a romantic connection with fellow Islander Lucie Donlan before he was dramatically dumped from the show.
The reality TV star is now rumoured to be growing close to former EastEnders actress Maisie Smith, 20, after crossing paths a few weeks ago.

The pair have reportedly been chatting “non-stop”, with a source telling The Sun: “It’s early days but they’ve got real chemistry,” says the friend. “He thinks she’s so fit and really funny.”
OK! has contacted representatives of Joe and Maisie for comment.
Eagle-eyed fans have also noticed that Joe has even followed Maisie’s younger sister and her mum on Instagram – a hint that he’s serious about getting to know the soap star.
As romance looks set to blossom for Joe and Maisie, here we take a look into Joe’s colourful dating history…
Joe met Lucie in the Love Island villa back in 2019, and he was instantly smitten with the Cornwall-based surfer.
However Joe was dumped from the villa in dramatic scenes, with Lucie opting to stay on the show. However, they reunited after the show finished, and picked up where they left off.
Their romance lasted until December, when they decided to part ways having grown apart.
A source told The Sun at the time: “Joe and Lucie have decided to end things between them. They’ve been so busy with work lately that it’s made it difficult for them to find time to see each other. They just grew apart.”
The pair’s split was said to be amicable, and Joe called it “unfortunate” but told how their time together was “amazing.”
Lucie has since moved on with fellow Love Islander Luke Mabbott, who starred on the winter series, and they are now engaged to be married.
Joe previously opened up to OK! Online about Lucie’s romance with Luke, saying: “As long as she’s happy that’s all that really matters, that’s all I really care about.
“I think we had our time and it was amazing. It was a massive whirlwind obviously when you first come out and I’ll always cherish that with her because there’s no one else I experienced that with.”
He added: “We had our good times, we had our really good times. It’s just unfortunate that it ended but at the same time as long as she’s happy, that’s all I really care about now.”
After splitting from Lucie, Joe struck up a romance with American model Desiree Schlotz.
The Love Island star jetted off to meet Desiree after exchanging messages on Instagram, and the pair were instantly smitten.
They announced their romance with several loved-up snaps taken during a trip to the Maldives, before then heading to Dubai together.
Speaking about their romance, Joe previously said: “I messaged her first. I slid into her DMs, but obviously she lived in America so it was a tricky one.”
However, it wasn’t meant to be and in April 2021 they confirmed that they had decided to part ways.
A source told The Sun: “Over lockdown Joe went to America to be with Desiree and was there a few months and then went Dubai together again for a couple of months.
“But Joe had to return back to UK for work and Desiree to America for work and just being a long distance relationship wasn’t going to work.
“It’s amicable and they’re going to stay friends.”
Desiree, 23, also confirmed the split on her Instagram page after fans began asking questions. A fan asked: “Are you still dating Joe?,” to which she responded: “I’ve been getting this question a lot lately and I just want to clear things up.
“We recently decided to split up. We decided to give each other space to figure out our own life and really focus on learning to love ourselves first.
“We just ask you to respect our decision. We have nothing but love and respect for each other.”
In 2021, Joe briefly joined the cast of hit ITVBe show The Only Way Is Essex, after growing close to Frankie Sims, 27.
Joe took Frankie on a date in October, and the pair enjoyed a romantic evening together with fans rooting for romance to blossom between them.
However, it appeared that it wasn’t meant to be as nothing came of the date, and Frankie eventually confirmed it was over.
Speaking to host Bobby Norris on spin-off show TOWIE: The Official After Party, Frankie revealed that she was seeing a new man who wasn’t from Essex.
Bobby asked if that meant that it was all over for her and Joe, to which Frankie responded: “I did ask him to stay in contact with me, he’s a lovely guy. I said please can we stay in contact and he said yes but I’ve not heard from him, he’s ghosted me.”
